Centreville rolls 56-28

The Centreville Tigers improved to 2-1 on Friday night with a 56-28 home win over the Huntington Hounds. The defending state champs racked up 484 total yards on the night en-route to winning their second straight game after a week one loss at Oak Forest. Senior tailback Zach Sinclair amassed 449 all purpose yards in front of the home crowd. Sinclair rushed for 293 yards on 20 carries and had five touchdowns along with 156 return yards on the night.
After yielding an early score to Huntington the Centreville ground attack took over as the Tigers totaled 484 yards rushing against the Hound defense. Centreville took a 35-21 lead into the half and held a 49-28 lead after three quarters. Huntington, to their credit, had 309 total yards on the night……126 rushing yards and 183 in the air.
Centreville sophomore quarterback Cliff Hurst had 70 yards rushing on 11 carries and one td and was 2/6 passing for 40 yards including a 26 yard hookup to Beau Field for a score.
The #2 ranked Tigers will host Silliman (1-2) Friday night as district 5AA play begins.
