Copiah girls top Canton
The Canton Academy Lady Panthers lost their 3rd in a row Saturday afternoon in Gallman at AAA Copiah Academy. The final was 49-45 in OT. The score was tied at 22 at halftime and 39 at the end of regulation.
Copiah was 8 of 8 at the free throw line during the overtime period.
High scorer for the Lady Panthers was Corey Yeates with 17. Katie Pepper added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
For Copiah, senior Rachel Strait had 9.
Free throws contributed greatly to the win for Copiah. They were 12 of 17 from the free throw line while the Lady Panthers only made 2 of the 8 they attempted.

Canton is now 4-3. The next games for the Lady Panthers are the Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving. They host Mt. Salus on Monday, 11/30 and then play Jackson Prep in the Hillcrest Tournament on Tuesday, 12/1.
