Heat no bother for Raiders

Oak Hill Academy head football coach Leroy Gregg said on Tuesday that the temperature was just a number.
It was a mighty high number by the time Gregg and his team walked out on to the practice field in the mid-afternoon heat.
Temperatures reached as high as 104 degrees on Tuesday afternoon, but it was business as usual for the Raiders, who are getting ready for their season opener against Heritage on August 20
.

The team took the field at about 3:15, and the sun was relentless.
However, the Raider players did their warm-ups, stretches and first practices without a bother.
There was plenty of water to hydrate with, and every Raider took advantage, but it was right back to business when that was over.
Good practices in this current heat wave are going to prove big for the Raiders, who have Immanuel Christian coming this Friday for a scrimmage game.
Temperatures are forecasted to dip down into the mid-90s again as the week goes on, but Friday night’s game-time temps are not going to be cool by any stretch.
Since practice started last Monday, Gregg has noted multiple times that his team has completed very good practices and that the boys are in good shape from a summer of conditioning and weight training.
Practices on Monday and Tuesday were a testament to that.
