Presbyterian Christian Girls and Columbia Academy Boys took home the first place team trophies. PCS Girls dominated their event beating second place Simpson by 64 points. MRA’s Tavin Lovitt took the individual Championship with 12:30.

The boys race was much closer with Columbia Academy placing three runners in the top-10 to beat Jackson Academy by 7 points. CA Sophomore Jon Luke Watts took the lead early and set a blazing pace crossing the 1-mile point at 5:13. With the competition falling further behind, Watts cruised to the finish line in a time of 17:18 finishing 18 seconds ahead of PCS’s Walker Stayer to remain undefeated in MAIS competition.

The next MAIS CC meet will be the Columbia Academy Invitational at 4pm Tuesday Oct. 12 at the Columbia Water Park in Columbia, MS.
