Centreville Academy's Michael Pate of Ethel, Louisiana has signed with Louisiana College. Pate is considered a utility player, sometimes wearing more than one number in a game.
Due to Pate's versatility he has played linebacker, fullback, tight end, defensive end, left guard, defensive tackle and long snapper.
Pate was voted by MAIS coaches as a All Star, and played at Mississippi College in the All Star game last November. Over the years he has been named All District Linebacker, All District Tight end and All District Full Back.
Pate was ranked #2 nationally as a long snapper by Prosnapper. Pate snapping an average of .75 and capable of getting down field to make a play on the receiver makes him a valued player. Pate was also named special teams Combine King in 2010.
Pate will be headed to Louisiana College in Pineville in the middle of May to begin training, to have a starting position
his freshman year.
Pate thanks God, family, church, and coaches for his success.
