Gateway Tire & Service Center Player of the Week
Michael Whitley of Trinity Episcopal is the Week Six Gateway Tire & Service Center Player of the Week.
The 5'11", 185 lb. senior quarterback led Class A number one ranked Trinity to a 55-0 road win over Bowling Green this past Friday night by going 16/20 for 328 yards and 6 touchdowns.
"Michael really is the centerpiece of our offense," said Trinity head coach Josh Loy. "We wouldn't be able to do the things we have done so far this season on offense without Michael and his tremendous leadership. His calm presence in our huddle, his play on the field and the way he conducts himself off the field is what every coach wants in their quarterback. He continues to be one of our hardest workers and deserves all the success and accolades he receives. Two things that make him so special is he never lets a bad or a good play change his focus, and when something breaks down he has a knack for making something special happen with his arm or his legs. I am honored to coach him and extremely proud of Michael. I truly believe his best football is ahead of him."
Whitley will lead undefeated Trinity this Friday night in a District 4-A matchup at WCCA.
