Trinity wins Brookhaven Tournament
Trinity guards Brandon Daggs, Givonni Dent and RJ Fleming combined for 51 of the Saints' 69 points in the BA Holiday Tournament championship game against Brookhaven on Tuesday night. Daggs led all scorers with 30 points on the night with Dent adding 11 and Fleming 10 points in the Saints' 69-61 win in Brookhaven. Trinity (12-3) built a 55-38 lead after three quarters which included a huge 26-6 3rd period. Brookhaven's attempt at a 4th quarter run fell short but was aided by Trinity's struggle at the free throw line in the last quarter. The Saints were 6 of 21 at the charity stripe in the final quarter.
Brookhaven (11-4) was led by Jake Reid and Blaine Roberts with 15 points each.
With the win Trinity takes over the #1 spot in Da Man's Top 5 rankings.
Both teams will meet again on Saturday, January 3rd in Natchez.
