In girls action last night the Trinity Lady Saints advanced to the semi-finals of the AA South State Tournament with a convincing 74-41 win over the Columbia Lady Cougars. Trinity got out early on Columbia building a 15-4 lead with 1:40 left in the opening quarter. A Caroline Ketchings 12 footer with 51 seconds left in the quarter and a Lesley Pomeroy basket 26 seconds later pushed the Trinity lead to 19-4 after the first quarter.

Trinity went on to finish the final quarter outscoring the Lady Cougars 13-7 en route to the 74-41 win.
Trinity senior Caroline Ketchings led the Lady Saints with a game high 26 points, sophomore Madelyn Cross added 17, and freshman Bethany Ogden had 12 points.
Junior Olivia Ryals led Columbia with 15 points and Lauren Williamson added 6 on the night.
Next up for Trinity is a 1:00pm Friday match up with Oak Forest.
In the other girls game last night Oak Forest punched their ticket to the semi-finals with a 58-33 win over Simpson. Oak Forest got through a sluggish first half to take a slim 23-19 lead into the locker room.
The Lady Jackets 25 point victory earns them a date with Trinity on Friday.
Oak Forest was led by Lauren Brumfield with 17 points, Ashlyn Neal added 14, and Lindsey Oliver had 9.
