River Oaks hit first when MacGregor connected with senior wide-out Lance Ginn for a 15 yard touchdown pass at the 6:27 mark of the opening quarter. Central Hinds closed out the quarter on a Jordan Currie 2 yard run to tie the game at 7-7. River Oaks took a 21-7 lead into halftime on a Vincent Moore 4 yard run and a 1 yard touchdown plunge from Ryan MacGregor.

The Mustangs took their biggest lead of the night at the 5:53 mark of the third quarter on Ryan MacGregor’s third touchdown of the game. MacGregor ran in from 10 yards out to put River Oaks up 28-7.
Central Hinds senior tight end Austin Biggs caught a 14 yard touchdown pass from Jordan Currie to trim the deficit to 28-14 with just under two minutes left in the game but River Oaks nailed the door shut when tailback Vincent Moore ran 32 yards for a score with just 27 seconds left in the third quarter to increase the lead to 35-14.
Mustang quarterback Ryan MacGregor had 111 yards rushing along with 92 yards in the air and sophomore tailback Davis Harris led all rushers with 124 yards. Senior linebacker Stephen Bragg led the Mustang defense with 17 tackles and a forced fumble.
River Oaks improved to 10-1 and will host Bowling Green Friday night in round two of the AA playoffs.
Central Hinds finished their first season back in AA football with a 7-5 mark.
