The Glenbrook Apaches beat the Prairie View Spartans, 58-41 Tuesday night to earn their first 2009-10 district win.
“We started off slow tonight, then we made some adjustments and the quarter break and then at the half,” Glenbrook head coach Chris Kourvelas said. “In the third quarter we came out and played a bit better.”
The Apaches trailed 11-10 after the first and then won each of the last three quarters (10-7, 17-12 and 21-11) to take the 58-41 win.
“We went on an 8-0 run in the third quarter and started to put them away,” Kourvelas said. Prairie View has a great team and we’ll have to play them again at their house in a couple of weeks. Winning is tough in our district and we’re just looking forward to the rest of our district schedule.”
Colton Spurlock led the Apaches with 23 points and eight rebounds and DeAngelo McDonald added eight points and 12 rebounds.
