Brandon Bairfield, a senior lineman from the Simpson Cougars, has committed to Mississippi College . The athlete will play football for the Choctaws. Bairfield came to Simpson Academy two years ago from Mendenhall. He made an immediate impact on the football team, playing both offense and defense, on the line, with both the size and the speed to make good things happen for the Cougars. Simpson Academy Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Billy Wayne Hankins said, “We are excited anytime one of our kids is able to sign a college scholarship. Brandon has made great improvements over the last two years, not only in football, but academically as well. Being able to attend a prestigious academic institution such as Mississippi College is a great honor for him. They are expecting him to come in and play as an offensive lineman. He was a big part of the reason our team at Simpson Academy was so successful this year.” At the end of the season, Bairfield was named to the All District Team, the All Star Team, and the All State Team. Those awards are voted on by all the coaches in the league.
