The top ranked Central Private Rebels opened up district 5AA play with a 14-4 win at home over district foe Oak Forest. The Rebels smashed seven home runs against the Yellow Jackets to improve to 11-0 overall.
Jason Young was the winning pitcher.
Thomas Bourgeois, Brennon Courville, and Ridge Perkins each sent two out of the park and Seth Stevens added the seventh home run.
The Rebels took the second game of the doubleheader 17-7 with Logan Lewis picking up the win on the mound.
Central Private will host a surging Centreville Tigers squad on Tuesday with the first pitch at 6:30.

Centreville had little trouble in disposing of the Huntington Hounds Monday evening as the Tigers rolled to a 14-2 win to improve to 6-2. Junior Brad Jelks only gave up two hits and picked up the win on the mound for Centreville. Jelks also collected a double at the plate and Tyler Towles continued to impress as the freshman had a single and triple on the night.

The Simpson Cougars ran their record to 7-0 with a convincing 17-3 home win over Leake on Monday evening. Andy Maddox (1-0) picked up the win and the Cougars got home runs from Steven Capistran, Ben Meadows, and Marc McMillian.

The Copiah Colonels also remained undefeated as they went on the road and blew out Benton Academy 15-1. Russ Singleton was the winning pitcher.
