Raiderettes blast Lady Wave

Tuesday’s Kirk-North Delta girls game could have been named Ambush Game. The reason for that name was that the Raiderettes were coming off a 38-35 win over the Lady Green Wave to win the Kirk Invitational last weekend. It would have been easy to have a letdown. That didn’t happen, however. The Raiderettes raced to a 17-2 first period lead and never looked back winning 48-22. With the win, Kirk improves to 21-1 overall. “We talked with our team about pushing forward and not looking back,” Head Coach Mike Reans said. “I thought our girls came out and showed tremendous energy on both sides of the floor. They knew what they needed to do and responded well.” The Raiderettes kept the pressure on in the second period. Kirk outscored ND 10-3 in the second period to lead 27-5 at halftime. Kirk broke the game open in the third period outscoring North Delta 13-6. The Raiderettes put three players in double figures led by Holly Wells with 12 points. Courtney Parella and Carmen Woods each added 10 points. Kelsey Marter had eight points and Beth Mann chipped in a point. Jordan Rutland rounded out the scoring with two points.
