Brookhaven got little resistance from Silliman last night in first round South AA action as the second ranked Lady Cougars cruised to a 66-23 win to advance to the semi-final round against the Prairie View/Columbia winner.
Brookhaven took a 29-11 lead into halftime and came out in the third quarter and quickly increased the lead to 39-15 on a Laura Beth Wright 3-pointer at the 5:54 mark. Sydney Sones hit a baseline jumper for Silliman at the five minute mark but Brookhaven capped off the third quarter with a 13-2 run for a 52-21 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Terah Winborne led all scorers with 23 points, Laura Beth Wright added 11, Anna Mangold 10, Anna Lofton 7, Victoria Jordan 4, Summer Calhoun and Marian Allen 3 each, Meredith Allen and Mary Lindsey Magee had 2 apiece and Haley Langston 1.
Bradleigh Brignac led Silliman with 8 points, Brittany Taylor had 7, Sydney Sones 4 and Samantha Williams and Holly Castello 2 each.
With the 66-23 win Brookhaven improved to 26-4 while Silliman finishes the season at 16-11.
