The Gateway Tire & Service Center Player of the Week
The Gateway Tire & Service Center Week Five Player of the Week is Marshall quarterback Dakota Dailey.
The 6', 185 lb. junior rushed for 183 yards on 15 carries and 3 touchdowns and went 8/15 for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Patriot's 49-13 road win over West Memphis Christian.
"He is an extremely hard working and dedicated young man who is by far the most unselfish team oriented leader I have ever seen," said Marshall head coach Bart Jenkins. "Kota is a kid who sells out every day to the things we do and deserves every accolade he ever gets. His progression as a quarterback is unreal and I am a very proud man who gets to coach such a wonderful leader, teammate, and young man. He is the type of kid who, 40 years from now when I retire, will always be the comparison to all the future quarterbacks I coach."
Dailey has rushed for 648 yards on the season and is the MAIS touchdown leader with 23. Marshall will look to improve to 5-1 this Friday against Fayette.
